kitround partners with Volleyball England

by Wendy

The volleyball community can now donate their unwanted pre-gamed and unused sports kit and equipment for others to buy at affordable prices, thanks to a new partnership between Volleyball England and kitround.

Many of us accumulate kit we no longer need or want for a variety of reasons, including the introduction of new strips and tracksuits, items no longer fitting and a simple desire to upgrade to something newer. or better.

Now, kit and equipment that is surplus to requirements can find a new home and get a second lease of life, helping others to enjoy the sport in an environmentally sustainable way.

Items that can be donated include sports footwear, tops, t-shirts, shorts, socks, tracksuits, hoodies and knee pads – in fact, any sports kit you have that still has plenty life left in it!

The donated kit will be listed on the kitround.com website, in a dedicated VolleyStore shop where it can be purchased.

“By partnering with kitround, we are encouraging Volleyball England members to donate their pre-gamed kit under a ‘declutter, do good’ call to action,” said Charlie Ford, Volleyball England’s Chief Executive Officer.

“In contributing items, individual members and clubs will be helping to generate income for the sport, with our intention to set up a hardship fund with the Volleyball England Foundation from the proceeds received.

“It’s a partnership that helps us not only improve our environmental sustainability as a sport, but also enables us to give a helping hand to those who want to get the right kit, but may be less financially fortunate than others.”

Items of kit can be placed in kitbins that will be in place for all major events at the National Volleyball Centre from Opening Weekend 2024 (12th and 13th October) onwards, including at Junior, Senior, Sitting and Beach events held at the venue.

Adam Stevens, Co-founder of kitround, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Volleyball England on this initiative, it is exactly why the business was founded – improving access to kit, raising funds for grassroots sport and increasing sustainability of kit in sport”
