FAQs

You’re bound to have questions, right?

To give you a heads up we’ve pulled together the most frequently asked questions and hope you find answers here – FAQ’s.

Seller FAQs

  • Do I need an account to list?

Yes - it’s quick, easy and free to create a kitround seller’s account. Simply follow this link and complete a few quick questions. As with many sites, we’ll send you an email and text to verify you’re a human – just follow those prompts and you’ll be all set up and ready to start selling.

  • Is it free to list?

Yes, there are no fees to list or sell on kitround – the price you advertise your kit for, is the amount you’ll receive when they sell.

  • How many pictures should I upload?

We recommend at least two pictures. But if you upload more to show the condition, size details, logos, and any extra information, the more likely your kit will sell. We suggest you photograph your kit on a plain background to make it clearer for buyers. Please use your own photos, rather than images from the manufacturer or screen shots from other websites.

  • What price should I sell my kit at?

This is completely up to you, though we suggest that setting a reasonable and realistic price will improve the chances of selling your kit quickly. The best measure would be to list your kit for a price that you would be happy to pay.

  • Can I choose between fixed price or accept offers?

You have the option to let buyers know you’re open to offers. If a potential buyer wants to make an offer it will come though the kitround messaging function and you will have the opportunity to accept / decline / make a counter-offer.

  • How do I donate to grassroots sport?

When you list a piece of kit for sale on kitround, you have the option to donate some or all of the proceeds of the sale to one of a curated list of grassroots sporting charities. Simply choose one charity from the drop-down list, then the percentage of the selling price you’d like to donate. The listing will clearly show both the charity and the amount of the selling price that will be donated. When your item sells, you will receive the balance between the selling price and the amount you chose to donate.

  • What is a ‘kitstory’?

When you list a piece of kit this is the place to tell a bit of the history of the item, perhaps you scored your first goal / took part in your first race / played your first match while wearing it. Bringing your kit to life with a kitstory helps it sell and get it back in the game.

  • How do I send an item?

The buyer will choose their preferred delivery option and you will be sent the details to create a shipping label. Then simply drop the kit off at your local collection point and the tracking details will be updated, so you can follow the progress.

  • What happens when an item sells?

When your kit sells you will receive a notification from kitround, simply follow the links to set up delivery to the buyer. If there will be any delays in sending the kit, such as you’re away on holiday, please let the buyer know as soon as possible.

  • When do I get paid?

The funds for your sale will be released to your chosen account following the delivery of your kit and the buyer confirming all is good.

Buyer FAQs

  • Are there fees for buying items?

A kitfee of 10% is added to the sale price of all items sold on kitround, to support our mission of getting kit back in the game, helping grassroots sport and celebrating the stories behind every piece kit. The kitfee is used to protect your purchases, cover the cost of card processing fees and enable the running and constant updating of our platform.

  • Do I need to pay for delivery?

At kitround, we’re focused on sustainability. As part of that commitment, we give you the option of having your kit delivered to a local locker – for free. This cuts down on emissions, because your kit doesn’t need to travel ‘the final mile’. You can also choose to have your kit delivered to an address of your choice, although there may be an additional postage fee to pay. It’ll be clearly shown on the product page.

  • Who pays the optional donation to support grassroots sports?

All sellers have the option to donate some or all of the proceeds of a sale to grassroots sports charities. That donation is paid by the seller. The amount you pay is the listed selling price of the kit, plus the kitfee and, depending on your chosen delivery method, any additional postage costs.

  • How can I pay for my kit?

We are proud to have Visa as our preferred payment partner and by choosing to use your Visa debit / credit card when you buy kit, you are helping to support grassroots sport. If you don’t have a Visa card that’s no problem, simply use your Mastercard debit / credit card instead. Currently we don’t accept American Express or Diners Club.

  • Which delivery method should I choose?

When you buy a piece of kit, you’ll be asked to choose how to have it sent to you. We work exclusively with InPost to give you the option of collecting your kit from their extensive network of lockers, or having it delivered to a UK address of your choice. Choosing to collect your kit from a locker is the more sustainable option, because it means your kit doesn’t have to travel the ‘final mile’, which reduces emissions.

  • How long will my kit take to arrive?

Typically, your kit should take 2 to 3 days to arrive at your chosen pick-up InPost locker location or address. All kit will have a tracking number, so you can see its progress. If you haven’t received your kit within 5 days of it being sent by the seller, please get in touch with us.

  • What if there's a problem?

We do everything we can to ensure that your kitround experience is as smooth as possible. But we know that occasionally you’ll have questions or need help. So you’ve got a few ways to contact us. Phone us or email us and we’ll be happy to assist.
