kitround partners with London Irish Foundation to unlock access to sport for all

by TimH

We’re proud to announce a powerful new chapter in circular sport: kitround has officially partnered with the London Irish Community Foundation – a shared step towards more inclusive, sustainable, and opportunity-rich sport for young people across the UK.

The partnership reflects our common belief that sport isn’t just a game – it’s a platform for growth, resilience, and belonging. Together, we’re working to widen access, support talent, and build stronger communities through the kit that too often goes unused.

From Discarded to Game-Changing

Through this collaboration, proceeds from the London Irish Foundation kitshop hosted on kitround are being directed straight into grassroots programmes supported by the Foundation, funding coaching, equipment, and spaces for young people to thrive.

“This partnership is about more than just sports,” said Andy Keast, CEO of the London Irish Foundation. “It’s about creating access, building confidence, and giving young people the tools they need to grow both on and off the field.”

At kitround, we view kit as a means of access. Every item shared through our platform has the potential to help someone rejoin the game, not only by minimising waste but also by eliminating financial barriers to play.

“This partnership is about more than just sports; it’s about creating access, building confidence, and giving young people the tools they need to grow both on and off the field.”

Proof Through Participation

Every donation through kitround supports four key impact areas:

  • Expanding Participation: Kit proceeds fund community sport programmes, providing coaching, equipment, and safe play environments.
  • Growing Confidence: With the appropriate kit and access, young people can develop leadership, teamwork, and personal agency.
  • Improving Health: Regular, inclusive sport contributes to healthier bodies and minds.
  • Fostering Equity: Circular kit redistribution ensures that no young person is sidelined due to cost or background.

Circular Sport in Action

This partnership also proves that sustainability and accessibility go hand-in-hand. By reusing kit instead of buying new, we not only reduce carbon emissions and landfill waste, but make sport more affordable and inclusive.

“We’re creating a community that believes in the power of sport to change lives. Together with the London Irish Community Foundation, we’re making sports more sustainable, accessible, and impactful.”
