Why did they partner with kitround?

Following the administration of the London Irish Rugby Club in 2023, the London Irish Foundation needed to create alternative avenues to fund its community programmes. Partnering with kitround allowed them to unlock the value of stored training and matchday kit, extend the life of premium gear, and direct vital resources towards grassroots initiatives that support participation, environmental, and social impact.

What did we do together?

A branded online kitshop was launched, featuring surplus rugby apparel and equipment directly from the club’s training ground. Managed independently by the foundation, the shop quickly proved successful in raising funds and redistributing kit that otherwise would have been wasted. The foundation also benefited as a charity partner of the 2024 David Lloyd Clubs kitbin campaign.

The Outcome

  • Over 550 items sold
  • Raised £7,720 for the foundation through sales

The Environmental Impact

  • Saved 1,850kg CO2e emissions
  • Preserved 9,500 litres of water
  • Diverted 155kg of sportwear from landfill

The Social Impact

  • Raised £7,750 for the foundation, funding access for 10 participants in social
    programmes.
