kitround began with pairs of unused football boots in Wendy Carter’s family home. Her nephew had stopped playing, but the boots were still in great condition.
That moment sparked a bigger idea. Across the UK and beyond, families are storing valuable sports kit while others are priced out of participation. Wendy saw the disconnect and the opportunity to bridge it.
She teamed up with Co-Founder, Adam Stevens, together, they built kitround: a circular marketplace that helps good kit stay in play, reduce waste, and open up access to sport.
kitround unlocks dormant value to fund grassroots initiatives, community projects, and sports-focused charities, turning unused kit into real social and environmental impact. From getting young people into sport, to reducing the need for new kit production, the ripple effects are proving to be measurable and meaningful.
kitround is growing fast, partnering with schools, clubs, brands and national organisations. But the mission remains simple: no usable kit should sit idle when it could help someone else get back in the game.
