Validating our proof of concept

We are proud to share that kitround has been shortlisted for two categories in the 2025 Sport Positive Awards, an international celebration of organisations driving sustainability and positive change through sport.

The Sport Positive Awards recognise projects and partnerships that turn ambition into measurable action across areas such as climate impact, biodiversity, community access and inspired innovation. This year’s winners will be announced at the Sport Positive Summit in London on 7 October, alongside the UNFCCC and IOC.

Inspired Innovation Award

kitround is the UK’s first dedicated circular marketplace for sports kit, tackling the vast surplus of unused kit sitting in homes, clubs and organisations. We have built more than a platform; it is a movement to break down barriers to participation while promoting sustainability, inclusivity and measurable community impact. By combining environmental accountability with social equity, we are proving that circularity can reshape the future of sport.

Purpose-led Partnership Award

With Visa, we launched Declutter & Do Good, a national campaign to tackle kit inequality in women’s football. Families donated pregamed kit at David Lloyd Clubs and Visa offices, with over 6,000 items collected and redistributed. The result was £60,000 raised for grassroots charities, over 28,000 kg of CO2e avoided and more than a million landfill years prevented. Visa amplified the impact through athlete storytelling, pop-up activations and a £1 donation per Visa transaction. kitround360 tracked every financial, environmental and social metric.

Why this matters

For us, being shortlisted is more than recognition. It is proof that our values led approach resonates with the wider sports and sustainability community. It shows that circular sport commerce is not just possible, it is scalable, credible and needed.

We are humbled to be recognised alongside other innovators working to make sport better for people and planet, and we look forward to sharing more in October when the winners are announced.
