Who we are?

TheYouth Sport Trust is a national children’s charity on a mission to harness the power of play and sport to improve young people’s education, wellbeing, and life chances. We believe every young person should have the opportunity to belong, lead, and thrive through sport.

Why we partnered with kitround

Reuse is more than just good for the planet, it can unlock real social value. By partnering with kitround, we’re connecting the dots between sustainability and equity: turning surplus kit into funding for programmes that build confidence, leadership and connection in schools.

Our objectives together

As part of the David Lloyd Clubs kitbin campaigns in 2024 and 2025, Youth Sport Trust joined kitround to ensure donated kit could drive positive outcomes in education and sport.

  • 6,000+ items collected through member donation
  • Kit redistributed and resold via kitround.com
  • Proceeds redirected into school-based initiatives that supportYoung leadersAthlete mentoringInclusive sport provision

This partnership helped raise awareness of both the environmental and developmental impact of second-hand sport.

What's next?

We’ll continue to scale our partnership with kitround, tapping into future donation campaigns and exploring bespoke initiatives with schools in our network. Together, we’ll connect kit reuse with our mission to equip educators, inspire participation, and create brighter futures.

Why we exist

In the UK an estimated 100,000 tonnes of sportswear ends up in landfill each year.
